Most couples tell me some version of the same thing before their wedding.
“We’re awkward in photos.”
The truth is, almost everyone feels that way at first. You do not need to know how to pose perfectly or spend the day thinking about the camera. My role is to guide when needed, step back when it matters, and create an environment where you can actually be present with each other.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the best photographs rarely come from over-directing every moment. They happen when people feel comfortable enough to settle into the day naturally.
A calm timeline. Gentle direction when needed. Knowing when to step in and when to quietly observe from the sidelines. All of it allows the day to unfold with ease while still creating photographs that feel elevated, emotional, and true to the experience itself.
